Hey! How are you?
I heard a while ago that an artist is a mix of craftsman and shaman.
The craftsman part allows him to create finely crafted objects.
And the shamanic part allows him to endow those objects with magical characteristics. That something that cannot be explained and that goes beyond practical utility.
And here comes the Montgó (in the centre of the image above).
Anyone who knows the Montgó (in the Marina Alta) knows that it is much more than a pile of stones, plants and bugs. There is something special about it. Something magical. Even sacred.
Over time I have dedicated some illustrations to it and I have put them together in a collection that I will continue to expand. You can discover it in the link below.

INSPIRATION & CREATIVITY
Animals
FlamINGOS
The colour of flamingos is determined by their diet of crustaceans. They eat upside down and can live up to 40 years. Paco de Lucía is perhaps the best-known flamingo. And how he played the guitar…
Photography
People on a boat
Look at the boat, the clothes, the people, the sea, the sky…
The sail…
How wonderful.

Turtles
David Bull is an Englishman living in Japan who carves woodblocks to make reproductions of classic Japanese illustrations. And he’s very cheap. I bought this turtle one from him (which is a Hokusai version of the Great Wave) and another one. They’re travelling in a package from his workshop in Tokyo right now. How exciting.
Una artista
LYDIA RICCI
Lydia collects trash and turns it into popular objects. A mix between arte povera and pop art.
Yoga
Savasana
This asana was a great discovery. I use it from time to time.
It works very well to get to sleep faster and even better.
Portable businesses
Bicycles workshop
Continuing with the series “Portable Businesses” today I bring you a workshop for bicycles on wheels. It doesn’t have a dataphone. Everything is “B”. Clean. When the day is over, he puts the money in his pocket and goes home. Without giving explanations to the Chinese Treasury.
Coffee makers
Nanopresso
I still don’t know how it works or the quality of the coffee it makes, but the gadget is quite amusing. It’s a portable coffee maker. I saw it on the website of Pichi’s Coffee Roasters, an artisan roaster from Dénia.
Plants
stevia
Stevia is a sweetening plant that has been gaining followers in recent years. The Internet says that diabetics can take it, as it does not raise blood sugar levels. In Spain, it was Pàmies who popularized it and fought for its legalization. He was helped in the fight by famous chefs Quique Dacosta, Santi Santamaria and Ferrán Adrià, among others. Today, its use has been expanded as a healthy alternative to saccharin and similar products.
