The Micalet Tower (Torre del Miguelete) is the bell tower of the cathedral of Valencia. The construction of the tower began in 1381 and ended in 1429. Because of its complexity and long years of construction, it was successively directed by several master builders. Later the belfry was added (1660-1736). The Miguelete is a tower of Valencian Gothic style, it is 51 m. high up to the terrace, the same as its perimeter, and 63 m. in total. It is shaped like an octagonal prism and has 207 steps.
