Palm tree

1,024 inhabitants - 1km² - Palmeri, palmerina
The term has a completely flat relief with a slight slope towards the sea, as it sits on the alluvial plain that occupies almost the entire orchard of the Safor.

With the expulsion of the Moors it had to remain totally depopulated. During the nineteenth century, after overcoming the silk crisis and transforming agriculture towards the cultivation of orange trees, the population doubled to 458 inhabitants in 1900. Its local history lacks relevant facts and is immersed in the historical evolution of the Duchy of Gandía, to which it belonged until the disassociation laws of the Cortes de Cádiz in 1814.

All about La Safor

La Safor is a coastal region made up of 31 municipalities and with a census of 171,903 inhabitants. It is located in the province of Valencia and borders the province Alicanteboth in the Valencian Community, Spain. Its capital and best known city is Gandíawhich currently has 73,000 inhabitants. Other places of special tourist interest are the municipality of Olivathanks to its historic center and its quiet beaches, or Villalonga for its numerous and interesting mountain routes.
