ABOUT THE PAYESAS
The payesas were the women who lived in the countryside, the peasant women. Until a few years ago it was still common to see them on the island dressed in the traditional way.
To make this drawing I sat at a table, ordered a coffee and ate a meat pie (very typical of the island). An hour and a half later I was walking out the door in the direction of the Sa Caleta. It was 2012 and Gangnam Style was playing all over the world (a horrible song).
