Today I bring you "Night in the Village" a version I made by Hasui Kawase (1883 - 1957). I would go out on a limb and say that Kawase is the second Best Artist of the World.
One of the things I like most about this and other Japanese artists is that exquisite way they had to transport us to the time in which they lived.
They are like little time machines. You're in 2025 and suddenly BAM! you've been transported to 1940.
My version of "noche en el pueblo" was sold at auction to Joaquin Cogollos.
I might regret selling her if I didn't know that she is in good hands and before going to bed he takes her down from the wall, puts a blanket on her and says goodnight.....
This is what it was like at that Legendary Auction™.
PS: The registration list for the next Legendary Auction™ closes on Thursday. If you want to get in, don't be too distracted
PS2For 2025, I set an auction record of €400 and I have already set a goal for 2026: €1,200. It's going to be an incredible year.
