The Most Legendary Auction

La novedad que traigo para esta Subasta Legendaria es una vista de Cala de Pinets en Benissa. No solo es una ilustración muy, muy especial sino que es la más especial de todas las que he publicado desde que empezamos con las subastas hace cosa de dos o tres meses.

What happens... is that what makes it so special has not yet arrived... There is a person, who for now we will call C. H. who has done "something" to it. And that something is not finished. Not yet...

Cala Pinets estará disponible durante 37 días. Y va a ser muy Legendaria. Ya verás. Es muy posible que la quieras tener pero solo la puede tener una persona porque es una ilustración original. Única. Irrepetible. LEGENDARIA.

Auction prices rise

Today we have Legendary Auctions. They are going to be a bit more legendary because there will be 4 works on auction at the same time. And also, they have raised the starting and reserve prices. Only a little bit, but they could not be called Legendary and sold at 30€. It was a bit squeaky...

In the Clandestinas it's all the same... those are for fun. Monday to Friday from 10 am to 11 am.

Bad news...

As you may know, I am attending as a listener to the Luxurization and Digital Marketing classes at the Polytechnic University of Youtube and after analyzing all the masterclasses I have understood that humor does not work well to sell art... Yesterday's work "Picasso was cross-eyed" was very funny but did not reach three figures... Emilio, I know that you will know how to value it as it deserves (I know the winner).

So a clean slate. I want to announce that from now on I leave humor, irony and stuff... Well... I'm going to try. I don't know if I will know... If you know of any online course on "How to be a serious and respectable person" you know my email.

The sketch of the strawberries that I bring today for Clandestine Auctions is from my stage before I became a "serious and respectable artist". It's a little funny and I apologize for that. Maybe it seems a little "dirty" but it is a good drawing. It has that "nosequé" that only appears when you are doing something for pleasure and you don't care about the result.

The auction lasts one hour (from 10 to 11 am).

Clandestine Auctions are excluded from the following guide.

In February 2025 I started auctioning original illustrations through this website. The first auction had a very modest result (a bid of 10€). The second one had more participants. The third one a little more. And so on. Each new auction is generating more interest and participation.

Higher price: 200€
Average price: 53€

Price evolution

Edition II - Two days after the first one, eight people bid for two original pieces. The winning bids were €35 each.

Edition III - Only four days after the first one, four people bid for an original watercolor. The final price was 42€.

Edition IV - The winning bid was 55€.

Edition V - The winning bid was 110€.

Edition VI - The average dropped to 99€ but one of the three auctioned works reached the final price of 200€.

New auction and collaboration with Amazon

I have been absent for a few days due to my new collaboration with Amazon. From now on the newsletters are sent through their servers. I can send 840 emails per minute. They are not all for you, don't worry.

The partnership is that I pay them and they offer me a service. What are you saying, that's not a partnership? Look... say it any way you want but now Jeff Bezos and I are partners.

THE AUCTION
Today we have three more works on auction. Original pieces. Magical. CHAMANIC!

Valencia. A pencil sketch for the purists of drawing. If you like sketches as much as I do, this work is for you.

Animalets. It was lost for a few weeks but I have found it. Be careful, it is a very nice illustration. Don't get too enamored if you are not going to bid seriously because it is possible that it will break all records.

Gandia. Back to Gandía. If you know anyone who works or lives near the town hall, they will be happy to hear from you. We will talk about your commission, one day... of these....

Here we go.

Let laaaaas begin....

AUCTIONS!!!

PS: Prices dropped quite a bit last week. It is a great time to keep buying. We will talk about the time to sell.

☕ Removals: from Germany to Lugo

If you visit the website today you might notice something different. Something subtle. Energetic. What you notice is because we are using a new server. Before in an Ionos hosting in Germany and now in Lucushost, Lugo.

This new home gives him a more stable environment, room to run and plenty of field.
The web is tremendously happy with the change but you may notice it a bit out of place in the next few days. If you notice any bugs let me know.

PS: Wednesday we will auction the original illustration of Xàbia (Jàvea) that opens this post.

A brief review of the trip to the Canary Islands

It has been two days since the Marroiak family landed at home after a two-week excursion to the Canary Islands. From the trip I brought back a handful of sketches, inspiration and a book of fish. Here is a summary of the trip.

TenerifeIt's bigger than I imagined. The north is beautiful. My favorite village Garachico. About the south a tenerifeña told us "they could put a dynamite line and turn it into another island. All for them". Another one told us that there are still some interesting places. The people in Tenerife are open and cheerful. We ate ice cream.

La Palma: It is indeed very beautiful. The Taburiente area has one of the most impressive landscapes I have ever seen. The island has many memorable corners. What my heirs liked the most was eating ice cream. The hiking was not. There were complaints and it was necessary to carry them on our backs. But they start to weigh a lot and we end up complaining ourselves.

La GomeraEndless curves between cliffs overlooking the sea. A Gomeran told us "I cried with happiness to be able to put third gear when I came to Tenerife". La Gomera has been the great surprise of the Marroiak family, although driving at night is a torture. What my heirs liked most was eating ice cream and getting a Netflix account for the first time.

The rest of the islands I have not yet had the pleasure of visiting.
