Wonders

Even at the risk of throwing stones on my own roof, today I want to share with you a work by Hasui Kawase, for me, one of the best artists in history.

Intense blue sky

Intense blue sky, lots of green and the sun creating a delightful play of light and shadow.

Yesterday I was at the Albarda Garden in Pedreguer and I brought back this drawing and a good cold...

It was worth it.

A dog with a frisbee

I recently read a very nice story in the book the Force versus Power by David R. Hawkins. It goes like this:

There was a man who was very angry. Actually it was something much more than anger. It was a deep resentment toward the world and toward all things.

His resentment was so great that he had accumulated a small arsenal: some pistols, machine guns, homemade bombs....

In the United States where if not...

A winter morning at the beach

I recently discovered one thing: there are activities that, no matter how long they last, recharge your batteries.

They don't need to last 5 hours. Not even an hour. Sometimes a few minutes will do.

For example:

Sauraha, Nepal

This is Sauraha, On the left hand side there were several small hotels and guesthouses, on the right hand side was the beginning of the park. On the left hand side there were several small hotels and guesthouses, on the right hand side the park began.

In case you go someday, I'll tell you how was my experience in the national park (it was 2016):

  • I hired two guides to visit the park on foot.
  • The route began by boarding a small wooden boat and crossing a crocodile-infested river.
  • It continued with a wild elephant chasing us and forcing us to get out of the boat and run away from him.
  • After throwing off the elephant and returning to the boat, we ended up in the forest listening to a tiger attacking some deer and analyzing its markings on the trees.
  • Meanwhile, the guides were telling me stories of people who had ended up in the hospital due to attacks by the labiated bear.
  • Perhaps most disturbing was the fact that the guides only had one stick to defend themselves.

Chitwan National Park, Nepal
Highly recommended.

Some problems solved

Ay, hay, hai...

I'm getting a taste for postcards... This one above is of two colorful houses in Denia. While I was making the drawing I met the owner of the yellow house.

Other: Today I have been checking the website because there have been a few failed orders for subscriptions. It seems that now it will go better, in any case if you have problems you tell me.

What about ports

I don't know what it is about ports but I LOVE them and I think I'm not the only one. Maybe it's because of the noises you hear, maybe it's the light, the boats... I don't know... They transmit calm.

On Friday I went to the port of Denia and I could not resist to make a drawing for the collection. Postcards of the World.

This collection was created for two reasons:

- They are very quick to make and very enjoyable. So I can give them away to Premium Subscribers. Which I LOVE!

- In January I'm going to India for two weeks and I wanted to prepare the website for all the drawings I'll do when I'm there.

If you like the picture above (and you are a Premium subscriber).
I give it to you here >

Free is crappy

This week I was on the beach of les Rotes in Denia making the drawing that I show you above. It is for a new collection that for the moment we will call: Postcards of the World

They are VERY small drawings, made in situ and without great technical pretensions. They are done quickly and are very enjoyable.

When I finished it, I thought about offering it for free on the web, for Premium Subscribers. But something didn't fit well. Something was bothering me... I was giving it a lot of thought...

And what didn't fit was the word free. Free is low cost. It's sleazy. It is suspicious.

I had to ask for help from Gran Espiritu (which is what we call in the temazcals to speak to myself) and he brought me the word gift. And there YES!

Gift is sharing, it is Premium.
It is generosity. It is MAGIC.

So if you like this postcard I'm NOT offering it to you for free, it's a gift 🙂

For Premium Subscribers, of course...
